As Spring nears, we wanted to let those who are interested know that travel soccer registration for the 2019/2020 year is now open! Tryouts will be on the following dates:

May 13th, 2019 - Grades: 2nd, 3rd
May 15th, 2019 - Grades: 4th, 5th
May 20th, 2019 - Grades: 6th, 7th, 8th
May 22nd, 2019 - Makeup Date

The grades listed above are the grades your child would be entering in the Fall of 2019, NOT their current grade! Teams are typically announced within a few weeks after tryouts end.

COMMITMENT: Travel soccer is a year-long commitment, consisting of both Fall 2019 season and Spring 2020 season. each season consists of 8 games, 4 home and 4 away with travel time generally not exceeding 45-55 minutes, and the possibility of optional tournaments at the discretion of the teams and coaches. Teams typically practice no more than 2 days a week and most games are on Sunday afternoons which does not conflict with recreational soccer, but there are occasional weeknight games as well. Travel soccer provides the next level of training and competition, while still maintaining a fun, social atmosphere.

COST: The cost for the first player in a household is $300, and each player thereafter is an additional $220. Uniforms are not included in the travel fees, and are generally around $80 per player. The fees for your first player include 2 tickets to our Annual Reverse Raffle; this is mandatory. The fees cover BOTH seasons, Fall and Spring, and travel uniforms can be kept and used for following years.

CAMP: Each year SSO hosts the Player Development Academy, which is a 3-day development camp held August 9th thru August 11th. It is limited to travel players and is included at no additional charge. The 3rd day (Sunday) is optional, and is a day that the coaches can schedule a friendly against another city's team as part of the camp.

OPPORTUNITY: As you can see, travel soccer is a great opportunity for your son or daughter to push themselves and challenge their skills at the next level, while receiving next level training. Many of our travel players go on to play for Strongsville High School's soccer teams, providing a great opportunity to be a successful student athlete while representing their city at the highest level.
